Steinbeck Wallpaper

“Write freely and as rapidly as possible and throw the whole thing
on paper. Never correct or rewrite until the whole thing is down.
Rewrite in process is usually found to be an excuse for
not going on. It also interferes with flow and rhythm which can only
come from a kind of unconscious association with the material.”

~John Steinbeck

  1. You have identified me too exact. I cann’t stop when writing or I loose my flow. I find myself editing while I aim to finish a story. When I edit, I find myself adding sentences and sometimes paragraphs. My short stories age back 20 plus years while I was working as a manger full time. The stories were all mapped out, therefore the context was set. They just were not complete. Now in my retirement, my passion is to finish each one while editing.
