Five #Positive Stories:#CommunitiesComingTogether & #ActsofKindness! #WATWB

Welcome to the “We are the World Blogfest” (#WATWB ). The #WATWB was inspired by a simple conversation about how all the negativity on social media was weighing on us. Wanting to make a difference we decided to try to do our part to infuse social media with all the good stories that are out there. We hope to share the stories that show kindness, compassion, hope, overcoming challenges and in general, the impressive resilience of the human spirit. For every dark, negative story out there, there is a positive, heart-warming story that will add some light and lift the human spirit. The last Friday of every month bloggers will share their stories led by six co-hosts, this month’s co-hosts are Sylvia McGrath, Susan Scott , Shilpa Garg, Damyanti Biswas, and myself, Belinda Witzenhausen To learn more about #WATWB or to join us click here!

“Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.” ~ Unknown

With the events of the past few months it may seem there are very few positive stories out there. What better way for us to warm our hearts than to hear about five incredible tales of human kindness… communities and people doing what they can to make other’s lives a bit easier! 1. Oooh I enjoyed this video so much Belinda thank you. They really do show how the acts of one individual effect so much in the outer world. From the neighbours walking with the black man in Nashville, the solar powered hand washing machine in Ghana, the Artist Support Pledge in East Sussex UK, the meals in India and the teenager in Buffalo … Thank you for co-hosting this month! Have a lovely weekend!

  2. Hi Belinda – I loved this … just wonderful to read – and to find that Matthew Burrows ‘Artists Support Pledge’ started here in East Sussex … loved knowing that – and I must find out a bit more. Also of course – they’ve pinched my blog name: Positive Stories! – NB said with tongue in cheek!! … but brilliant to listen to … and what we can all do, when we work together – great to read – thank you … Hilary

  3. Thanks for sharing not one but five lovely, inspiring stories of people generously giving, from places all over the world. Your stories lifted me up, and reminded me there are always ways to lighten the load of our fellow humans and share hope. And thanks for cohosting!
